watched the movie first, then finished the first part of the novel in 4 days (i read too fast for my liking... i wish i had the self-restraint to savour novels haha... but im impatient and have the attention span of a traumatised goldfish)
i feel the movie fared ok... if not for robert pattinson and his thick brows, i think it *might* have been a flop actually... admittingly he does look good in the movie *understatement!* and tall!!! but i dun like his elvis hair... but guys with thick but groomed brows look better... of course not unibrow... cringe!!
opps i was diverted. anyway, i suspect that the reason i didn't react strongly to the movie (i didn't even cry! gasp!!!!) was bcos i watched a downloaded *ahem* pirated *ahem* version on shan's comp... which is horrible unclear... she suspects it was secretly taped in the cinema, which explains the blurriness... im guessing it would appeal much better with the acoustics and huge-ass screen of a proper cinema...
anyway aafter reading the novel i think the movie did quite a good job! the scene in the woods was much better than the lame and weak revelation on the car, originally in the novel... besides some blatantly obvious exceptions like how they cant possibly film edward playing the piano or pouncing on bella and overturning the sofa *so sweet!* but its really amazing how robert pattinson's accent can change so readily on screen... just like how hugh laurie has a thick english accent normally, but can shed it instantly for an american accent in House... very very cool...
but like i said, im horribly impatient and so i couldnt stand the suspense of not knowing the ending to the novel... and i went to wikipedia it... haha!!! omg i love spoilers!
but reading the spoilers right... i kinda dun like the ending... cos its so nice... if it was me i'll kill a good guy at least, like Jacob Black... a thriller book itsnt complete without a good guy dying lor!!! just like how JK Rowling went on that massive killing spree, with Dumbledore, Dobby, and very grudgingly, fred weasley (WHILE SCRAPING GEORGE'S EAR AT THE SAME TIME %$%$^%#^#$&^)... so yeah a bit of death is essential because life doesnt give everyone what they want!
and i have to admit that its pretty feminist, and sounds like its only going to increase... but then again, who wouldnt go weak in front of a bad boy (100+ years old? loose definition of boy) with "perfect looks and body"??? ahhhh the biceps!!! haha i have this thing for defined musculature around the arms :p
ohhhhh and the draft for midnight sun is sssoooooo sweeet... i wish stephenie meyer would continue writing it... go read it online!!

oh btw my dad's got a puppy!!! actually its cos my sister has been begging for one for far too long i guess its getting on everyone's nerves. It only took so long because of my mother's persistent refusal to include another member of the family when she "already have 3 pigs taking up her time" -_-
its only 4 weeks old, tiny and absolutely adorable! i named it miumiu!
of course he pees and shits whereever he pleases, which is frustrating for my parents cos for some reason they are the only ones who accidentally step on them haha!!! mum was sooo funny when she called me to complain abt how small and inconspicuous his shit pellets were haha! but she seems to be liking miumiu cos he's so irresistably cute!!! especially since e's so small, he cant manage a bark yet (which is a good thing) and he can only make whiney noises... haha and he keeps biting his toy dog and my sister's socks, although i cant imagine the appeal of the latter...
he now has his own "king" bed! v snug and comfy! will take pics soon!! haha my mum keeps talking to him and nagging him!! uber funny! and she refuses to call him by his name cos she thinks its a stupid name -_- she just go "doggy doggy!"
shld take him to the vet soon too... his nails are getting too long! keep scratching me and getting caught on my clothes when i carry him!
