im abit peeved off by the whole peer-review thing for our optom biggie assignment... because ur basically banking on ur luck... if u get a good reviewer, u get heaps of comments on both ur strengths and weaknesses... get a slack on and u end up feeling hollow...

that's what happened to me and boy am i pissed off! i made the effort to actually churn out a decent 1016 word essay (and i mean DECENT) even though that week was filled with other assessments and most ppl couldnt even be bothered in meeting the word count... and what do i get??? 4 (BARELY) sentences written in pencil, that i personally DO NOT view as constructive comments at all... this is ridiculous...

(p.s. i think i know who this person is cos i recognise the handwriting today... but i will not mention names. i will, however, remember this.)

whenever i peer reviewed others, i always make sure i write heaps... even this time i got this person who devoted 2 entire paragraphs on cataract when the topic was refractive errors -_- (obviously another person trying to fill up the word count... the tardiness...) anyway, i wrote so much suggestions and possible points that i included in my OWN ESSAY for his/her reference, cos blimey the essay was quite bad... and this is what i get in return??? i seriously think that the whole peer-review component should be assessed as well because there are so many people who just dun take it seriously. These people hope to benefit from the comments of others, while they in turn just scribble some nonsense??? wtf??? so ur time is precious but not others???

i've nvr been a scheming person... especially academically, and now i even go my way to help others in optom just because i seriously hope that no one fails... cos repeating and wasting another year just sucks... but apparently this sentiment isnt shared by everyone i guess...

I dun mind going first in that dumb physio quiz and risk not getting that perfect mark, even though i did thanks to roslyn and yery :) i didnt mind emailing the answers to EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN OUR OPTOM YEAR... y? because it saves all our time and we can study all the other assessments that we have! of course now that i realise that there are ppl who take this for granted and are stinking selfish, dun expect me to be so dumb again.

fool me once, shame on u.
fool me twice, shame on me.

Dun worry, i wun b slack and be like u, making such a slipshod attempt at marking... i will continue doing things that are answerable to my conscience.

However, the next time when we do physio quiz, dun freaking expect to get the answers... and ppl who dun even bother to come to the room to help out should have no right to the answers as well! (unless of course they have lessons :p)

i hate leeches...
